Should you rent or buy a yacht slide? The answer depends neither on the budget available nor on the size of the boat, but on a single variable: the number of days you will actually use it in a season.

Renting or buying a yacht slide: the basic maths
A day’s rental runs between 450 and 550 euros depending on the model. A new slide costs from 2,490 to 3,900 euros. The threshold appears quickly: beyond six to eight days a season, buying becomes cheaper from the first year.
That threshold drops further over several seasons. Well-maintained equipment easily lasts four to five years, which brings the annual cost under 700 euros for an entry-level model.
In other words: for occasional use, two or three outings a summer, Rental is unbeatable. For a boat used regularly,Purchase s’impose rapidement.
What the maths leaves out
Three things never appear in the price comparison between renting or buying a yacht slide, and yet they weigh heavily.
Availability first. Between June and September, models are booked in advance. Equipment on board is available the day you feel like it, which is priceless when the weather decides for you.
Storage next. A slide you own has to be put away out of season. The folded volume stays modest, but it needs a place and a frost-free space.
Maintenance last. It is simple, but it falls to you. With a rental, the equipment is checked between outings without you having to think about it.
Renting or buying a yacht slide as a professional
For a charter company, the question of renting or buying a yacht slide changes nature entirely. The slide is no longer a comfort purchase, it is equipment that changes the listing and the daily rate.
In practice, a slide visible in the first photograph changes the click-through rate on a charter platform. It is one of the few pieces of equipment immediately recognisable in a thumbnail, in a market where boats look alike.
Most of our professional clients proceed in two steps: one season renting to measure the real effect on bookings, then a purchase the following year if it holds up. It is the most prudent method, and it avoids nasty surprises.
Equipping a fleet: the third way
When it comes to fitting out several vessels, neither renting nor buying at list price is optimal. That is where the Display models prennent tout leur sens.
These units shown on our boat show stands have never been put in the water. They go for between 1,250 and 2,250 euros depending on the model, with the same warranty as new and immediate availability.
For a charter operator who wants to equip three boats before the season starts without waiting for the workshop, it is the most direct solution. The only constraint: no customisation, and a single unit per model.
And what about customisation
It is the only criterion that decides definitively in favour of buying. A slide in your fleet’s colours, with your logo, cannot be had on rental.
For a company building a brand image across several boats, that visual consistency is often worth the price difference on its own. It turns a piece of leisure equipment into a communication tool.
Renting or buying a yacht slide: our recommendation
Fewer than five days a season, with no customisation requirement: rent. More than eight days, or a project spanning several years: buy. In between, or if time is short, look at the display models.
In every case, describe your situation to us from the contact page : we price both options so you can compare on your figures, not on ours.
